Language support

Meeting notes start with the language you speak.

Convoxa supports Japanese, Korean, German, French, Chinese, and other languages through On Device and Cloud modes. Choose On Device for a language your device supports, or Cloud for a broader selection.

Compare On Device and Cloud availability

On Device runs on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. Cloud requires an internet connection and supports 60+ languages. The table shows the languages in our On Device list alongside their Cloud availability.

On Device availability and regional variants can vary by device. The list was checked on September 4, 2026; use the language options available in your app when setting up a recording. See the complete Cloud language list for languages beyond this table.

Choose the language and region your device supports

For meetings in Japanese or Korean, both modes list the language. German is also listed in both modes, with On Device variants for Austria, Germany, and Switzerland.

French has On Device variants for Belgium, Canada, France, and Switzerland. Chinese has variants for mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan; Cantonese appears separately in the On Device list. The Cloud list uses “Chinese” and does not separately list Cantonese.

Language support describes transcription capability. It does not establish App Store availability or Cloud mode access in a particular country.

Test the kind of conversation you actually have

Before a client meeting, try a short recording with the accents, names, and vocabulary you expect. Check how the transcript handles company names, project terms, and numbers. A supported language is a starting point, not a guarantee that every accent or specialized term will be captured correctly.

Both modes include speaker labels, which can help follow a discussion between several people. Review speaker attribution and important wording before using the result for decisions or sharing the note.

Language support and offline use are separate choices

On Device can transcribe offline after the necessary language assets are installed. Cloud mode needs an internet connection. Supporting two languages individually does not by itself promise how a recording that switches between them will behave.
